What’s On this Autumn

Fun apple painting activity at newton court

Surrounded by so many trees in the orchards and on the hillside, the season change at Newton Court is very visible by the leaves taking on their autumnal colours.  It’s a busy time for apple picking, pressing and fermentation for our award-winning cider.  There’s still chance to enjoy an orchard picnic, plus we have a special AppleFest menu during the first 2 weeks in October.  You won’t be surprised that we celebrate all things apple, taking part in both Craft Cider Week and Applefest with harvest cider tours and appley crafts.  Pizza Fridays continue to the end of October half term; two Steak Nights are on the calendar and our popular orchard pumpkin trail is back!

Cider Tours

Our popular cider tours will run on the following dates, all at 1.15pm, followed by food and tasting.
Saturday 14th September
Saturday 28th September – Applefest
Saturday 5th October – Applefest

It’s £25 for a tour, tasting and Ploughmans per adult; £15 for children (apple juice available too).  If you are a large group interested in a tour at a different time, do get in touch as we may be able to set up a bespoke tour.

Pizza Fridays

Pizza Fridays are in the diary up to and including 1st November at the end of the half term holiday.

Orchard Pumpkin Hunt

Over autumn half term until 3rd November, will you help us with our orchard pumpkin hunt?  There are a number of pumpkins hidden in Knowl Orchard, on each of which is a letter.  Pick up your clue sheet from the front desk in the cafe, head to the orchard, write down the letters and unscramble them to find the mystery word.

Steak Night

Book in for Thursday 26th September or Saturday 9th November, between 6pm and 8.15pm for our steak night.  Local sirloin, rump and fillet will be cut and cooked to order.  Plenty of sides, salads and sauces will accompany the meat.

AppleFest

The whole of Herefordshire is celebrating AppleFest!  With dozens of acres of cider apple orchards on the farm, which is home to the prize winning ciders (and don’t forget the perries!) of Newton Court Cider, we’re inviting visitors to join us in paying homage to the county’s favourite fruit.  Whether you eat, drink, get crafty or learn about apples and orchards, our Applefest fortnight has something for everyone, starting 28th September.
